The Whitsundays | Capricorn Reefs
The 74 Whitsunday Islands lie between the northeast coast of Queensland, Australia, and the Great Barrier Reef, a massive stretch of coral brimming with marine life. Many islands are uninhabited and are characterised by dense rainforest, hiking trails and white sand beaches.
The Whitsunday Islands are a collection of continental islands of various sizes off the central coast of Queensland, Australia, approximately 900 kilometres (560 miles) north of Brisbane. The northernmost of the islands are situated off the coast by the town of Bowen while the southernmost islands are off the coast by Proserpine. The island group is centered on Whitsunday Island, while the group’s commercial centre is Hamilton Island. Hamilton Island features a commercial airstrip, world-class resorts and is the ideal departure point for your Whitsunday adventure.
